Sentence: 5 years
Conviction: Possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs including, Heroin, Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, legal highs, MCat and Cannabis. Liam was also charged with possession of criminal property.
On 30/4/16 Liam Lloyd was stopped driving a car in Alway, Newport. A search of the vehicle located a large quantity of MCat and Cocaine as well as a quantity of cannabis.
Whilst on bail on 29/11/16 Liam was stopped by officers in Soho Lane, Newport. After a short foot chase he was detained nearby and found in possession of large amounts of heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine and legal highs. The potential street value of the drugs was approximately £17000. He was also in possession of approximately £7000 in cash. On 20/01/17 Cardiff Crown Court sentenced Liam to 5 years imprisonment in relation to both incidents.
PC Alistair Frame and PC Sean Meyrick, who both lead on the investigations said: "Our Neighbourhood Teams and Area Support Teams will continue to work together to tackle the supply of controlled drugs in the community. During both incidents Liam was in possession of large amounts of Class A and B drugs that would have been supplied to others in the community. We welcome the sentence imposed on Liam and would like to thank the community for their continued support".
