Another Newport man sentenced as part of Operation Jewels…

On Wednesday 26th April 2017 our officers carried out the second part of the largest policing operation in Gwent, known as Operation Jewels.

Over 250 officers conducted a series of early morning warrants across Newport to tackle illegal drug supply.

During the search of 14 addresses, a quantity of cash, Class A drugs and paraphernalia were seized.

In total, 33 people were arrested as part of the operation, 28 of those have been sentenced for numerous Class A drug offences.

Yesterday, another defendant, 30 year old Tasleem Mohammed was sentenced to 3 years and 8 months imprisonment for being concerned in the supply of illegal drugs.
