Did you see anything that could help? Robbery off Mafon Road

We’re appealing for information following a robbery that took place in the layby off Mafon Road (A472) next to the Railway Inn.

The incident took place at 2.30pm on Wednesday 20th September 2017.

The victim was leaving her business premises, when she was approached by a man on a bicycle. She had previously placed her handbag containing a large amount cash into her car. The offender opened the car door and when the victim challenged him, he threatened her with a small yellow handled knife.

The offender then left on his bicycle along with the handbag, in the direction of the Railway Inn, travelling across the A472 and up Llwyncelyn Terrace.

The offender is described as a teenage male, around 5ft 3 tall and of medium build. He was wearing a light grey hooded top with the hood up over his head and grey tracksuit trousers with white trainers. He also wore a black balaclava that covered his whole face.

Detective Inspector Michelle Chaplin said, ‘If anyone has any information about this incident, I’d urge them to come forward and speak to us. The impact of this offence is even more traumatic for the victim, as the money stolen was due to be used towards her impending wedding photographs.’

If you have any information about the robbery or may have witnessed the incident, please call 101, quoting log 262 20/9/17. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
