Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Support Network
Gwent Police Gay Support Network was established in 2002 and was re-launched in 2007. The jobs of those involved in the Network are from varied roles within the police service including operational police officers to non-operational police staff.
The network is recognised and supported by Gwent Police Chief Officers and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Support Network is a member of the Gwent Police Equality and Diversity Board.
The LGB&T Network is primarily a support network for all police officers and police staff within Gwent Police. Our main aim is to achieve a working environment that promotes equality in all that we do and eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation so that people are treated in the fairest way. We are trying to achieve this by:
- Promoting equality LGB&T staff police officers and staff with Gwent Police
- Offering advice and support to LGB&T staff
- Giving feedback to improve the working environment for LGB&T staff and policy development
- Working towards better relations between the police service and the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community in the Gwent Police area
