The Contracts & Procurement Department is responsible for managing the supply of goods and services. The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent spends on average £37 million each year on goods and services to support operational policing across the Gwent area from Abergavenny to Newport, Chepstow to Caerphilly.
"To support the long term strategy and core operational objectives of Gwent Police by providing a modern procurement service that applies high standards of professional skill, ability and integrity to achieve best value through effective, sustainable procurement of goods and services for the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent".
It is the role of the Department to establish and make available appropriate value for money contracts on behalf of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent and the wider Gwent Public. Individual departments within Gwent Police are able to procure goods, services and works under delegated limits and place call off orders under existing framework arrangements or local contracts.
